The duty
Art. 50
Transparency
Anyone talking to your chatbot must know it is an AI, and synthetic content you publish must be labelled as such.
In force since 2 August 2026
It is the cheapest duty to meet and the easiest to breach without noticing, because it lands on places nobody thinks of as "AI systems": the support chat, the assistant inside the account area, the images in a campaign. Article 50 has applied since 2 August 2026 and was not deferred with the rest.
What it includes
- Inventory of every point where a user interacts with AI
- Notice copy written in Spanish and English, ready to paste
- Labelling criteria for synthetic image, audio, video and text
- Review of any notices you already have in place
- Implementation note for the product team
How it runs
Sweep
A pass over your public and private channels looking for undeclared AI interactions.
Drafting
Notices written for a user to understand, not for a committee to approve.
Handover
Placement guide and labelling criteria, citing which paragraph of Article 50 covers each case.
What it is not
Saying this before you sign avoids the awkward conversation after.
- We do not ship the changes into your product: we hand over copy and criteria, your team applies them.
- Does not cover Annex III high-risk duties, which are separate work on a separate date.
Is this the one you need?
Twenty minutes to confirm scope. If this service is not what you need, we say so there.
